Unmistakable Example
(Evening Service)
Text: 1 Peter 2:11-25
The word “submission” can sound like a dirty word. We might think that submission is about begrudging obedience or manipulation in some sort of tug of war: what one person gives is what the other person gets. We benefit to the extent that we can get someone else to do something for us. We might think submission is doing what people ask, even if inwardly we are in rebellion against them. This isn’t what God says submission is. We are called to a different kind of submission. Tonight we are going to be asking the question: why should we foster a culture of submission?
