Text: 1 Thessalonians 1:1-3

The Thessalonian church is a model church. They are an inspiration. They are committed. They are unshakeable under pressure. In this series, we’ll look at this wonderful letter and ask how it weighs in on our lives. Right off the bat, Paul, through his intro and prayer, is celebrating the church. He hears something really really good about them and wants to tell them. But, my question is: Why? Why does Paul celebrate this church? What is it about them that he loves to see going on? And what can that teach us? Let’s jump into this new series to find out more!

Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy,

To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:

Grace to you and peace.

We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

(1 Thessalonians 1:1–3 ESV)
